Having trouble finding a pr internship and lost on where to look? The following tips can help hone your skills in finding the right pr internship for you.
Know the firm’s brand. What is their corporate culture? What kinds of clients do they represent? How does their community match your interests? These are the questions you should be asking yourself as you research the firm’s website and writing your cover letter to submit to them.
Find school alumni at the company you want to be at. Alumni are always willing to help new college graduates. They can tell you how they succeeded in getting their job and what working at the company is like.
Look at what is nearby. Usually, PR firms are in urban areas and if you are attending a school in the same state you live in, there’s a good chance you will build more connections knowing the culture and vibe of living in a particular area and what makes it unique.
Tailor your cover letter to your skills. Obviously, we all want to brag about how great our experience is and everything that we’ve done to succeed. However, we must ask ourselves, who am I and what do I bring to this position? Companies are looking if YOU are a good fit.
